My love of animals began at SeaWorld, where I watched the orca show. I was taken away, and ever since, I have loved Orcas a lot. I always picture myself seeing them in the wild and hope to do so one day. This piece is a self-portrait that also reflects my love for orcas. Orcas are highly spiritual creatures, often symbolizing freedom, as they are powerful and unrestricted in the ocean. I hope to live life with as much freedom as these beautiful creatures have in nature. The magazine pieces reflect all the chaos and various stressors in my life. Everything feels scattered, and I don’t seem to find a place of peace because of all the things that happen in my life. Even though I have a lot of stress, when I see an orca breach out of the water and into the air, I feel a sense of relief and completion. No matter how many things are going on in my life, Orcas will always be the creatures that appeal to me.
